Wellfield Expansion - Phase III

Beginning in 2004, due to the increasing decline of Lake Meredith, the Authority began acquiring additional water rights in Gray, Hutchinson, Roberts, and Wheeler Counties.  In 2007, the Authority  finished its water rights pursuit and has become one of the largest water rights owners in Texas.

The Phase III proposed wellfield area is located about 18 miles northeast of Pampa, TX.  It will be comprised of multiple high capacity wells and a transmission pipeline.  The transmission pipeline will tie into Pump Station 21, which located about 12 miles to the west in the Phase I wellfield area.  The Phase III wellfield is expected to be operational by early 2010.

A single prototype well has been drilled, but is not currently operational.
